Our Tempranillo at its best - vibrant and energetic with density, complexity and concentration. Ripe black cherry fruit characters are rounded out by soft, mouth filling tannins derived from the grape and built on during maturation in barrel. A versatile, medium to full bodied wine with persistence.
Ethereal aromatics of mixed summer berries complemented by underlying savoury tones of dried herbs, tobacco leaf and forest floor. Soft berry fruits are weaved into a savoury and earthy palate. A moreish wine with elegance, depth and persistence.
The wine is deep in colour with crimson hues. An aroma of blackberries, and fruits of the forest, give way to a brooding mix of dark spices and earthy elements. Mouth-filling ripe tannins, supported by fine French oak, and an intensely vibrant black fruit profile, result in a textured palate with savoury complexity and persistence. Enjoyed now or confidently cellared for 10+ years.
The wine is characterised by flavours of blackcurrant, mulberry, dried herbs, and slightly herbal aromas which are balanced by powerful and vibrant ripe black fruits of the forest and a strong tannin profile. This is a wine that ages incredibly well!
The wine is a carefully structured blend, crafted to respect the individual characters of each variety and to capture their harmony when in concert.
The winemaking process saw the Saperavi, Tannat and Tempranillo harvested and fermented as one parcel in a small open fermenter. These varieties contain a great deal of tannin and flavours in their skins so during the fermentation period our attention was focused on achieving the right level of extraction for the wine to have considerable aging potential. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon components were blended after maturation to provide additional complexity, and continue the Quintus tradition. Maturation occurred in fine grain oak barrels.
The palate is seamlessly powerful as well as elegant with fine, persistent tannins, a vibrant black fruit spectrum and notes of liquorish. Most notably, the wine is complex, layered and unique. Perfect with a range of robust meals
2018 Late Harvest Petit Manseng
This wine is sweet and luscious with a refreshing zing. It was partially fermented to 9% alcohol leaving around 50% of the sugar un-fermented. The aroma shows lifted tropical fruits, citrus, ginger and spice which will develop further honeyed complexity after a few years in bottle.
